The rules of the room
Terms of use
These terms cover this website, The Hangover community, the podcast and everything you can do with an account here. Using the site means you accept them. In force from September 8, 2026.
Your account
You need an account to post, reply, follow anyone, put a take in the queue or join a Space. One account per person. Keep your password to yourself, give us an address that reaches you, and tell us if you think somebody else is using your account. You must be at least 16 to hold an account, and at least 18 to hold a paid one.
Membership and billing
The Room is free. The Regulars and The Table are paid and renew every month until you cancel. Payment is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. You can cancel at any time from your account, and cancelling stops the next charge rather than refunding the month you are in. If we change a price we will tell you before it applies to you, and you can cancel instead of paying it.
What you post
You keep ownership of everything you post. By posting it here you give us permission to show it on the site, to quote it, and to read it out on air with your member name attached. If you do not want something read on air, do not put it in the queue. You are responsible for what you post, and you confirm you have the right to post it.
What you may not post
No harassment, threats, or abuse of any person. No slurs or attacks on people for who they are. No sexual content involving minors, ever, and no sexual content at all. No doxxing or posting anybody’s private information, including your own address or phone number. No spam, scams, malware or advertising. No impersonating a host, a guest or another member. No content you do not have the right to post.
Moderation
We can remove any post, cancel any account and close any Space, at our discretion, without notice. We would rather tell you why, and usually will. Losing an account for breaking these rules does not entitle you to a refund of the month in progress.
Our episodes, clips and transcripts
The episodes, video, artwork, transcripts, the show name and the marks are ours. You may listen, watch, read, quote a passage with attribution, and share the links we give you. You may use Clip Studio to make a clip and post it on social media as a fan, with the show credited and the link intact.
You may not use any of it commercially. That means no monetized channels built on our footage, no advertising, no sponsored or branded use, no reselling and no training a model on it, unless you hold a written license from us. A commercial license is applied for, not bought from a page, and it is a separate agreement.
Live Spaces
Spaces are live, other people are in the room, and anything you say can be heard, quoted and clipped by them. Treat a Space as public. The same rules on what you may not post apply to what you say out loud. Hosts can mute or remove anyone.
The shop
Merchandise is printed to order. Sizing, delivery times and returns are shown at checkout and are handled by the fulfillment partner named there. Damaged or wrong items are replaced.
What this show is not
Headline Hangover is a show, not a newsroom, and nothing on this site is legal, medical, financial or psychological advice. We label what we say by kind, we publish our sources, and we publish our corrections in the same place as the error. That is what we promise, and it is all we promise.
Other people’s services
Parts of this site rely on services we do not run, including Stripe for payment, the podcast hosts that carry the feed, and the provider that carries live audio. Their own terms apply to what they do, and we cannot promise their uptime.
Availability and liability
We will keep the site running as well as we reasonably can, but we do not promise it will always be available or error free. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Ending it
You can close your account at any time. We can close it if you break these terms. When an account closes, the posts you made may stay on the site unless you ask us to remove them, and we will remove them where we reasonably can.
Changes
We will update these terms as the site grows. If a change matters to you, we will say so on the site and in The Monthly Mix before it takes effect, and the date at the top will change.
